Ft. St. Vrain Combustion Turbines
Xcel Energy has planned to build two new gas-fired combustion turbines at the Fort Saint Vrain natural gas power plant west of Platteville. The two turbines will add 364 megawatts of electricity to the grid, powering at most 364,000 homes. They are expected to begin operating in 2027.
